Admissions for International Students

The Los Angeles Acting Conservatory welcomes international applicants interested in professional training in acting, filmmaking, screenwriting, and directing.
Our programs combine industry-recognized techniques with hands-on, performance-based learning
1.
Skype Interview
All applicants must complete a Skype interview prior to receiving the application form.
Please contact our admissions office to schedule an appointment.
2.
Application Materials
After the interview, submit the following items via email:

Completed international application form

Headshot or recent photo
-
Copy of passport
-
Resume (beginners may submit without a resume)

Essay or Video (Required):
“Why I would like to study at the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory”
– 150–200 words or a 2-minute video

One letter of recommendation
-
Acting Program: 3–8 minute contemporary monologue (YouTube link)

Filmmaking/Directing Program: 5–7 minute sample reel or 5–7 pages of creative writing

Application Fee
A non-refundable $175 application fee must be submitted online.
Once all materials and the fee are received, applicants will be notified of their admissions timeline.
4.
Issuance of the I-20 Form
Accepted students will receive the Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status).
This form is required to:

Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee

Schedule a visa interview
-
Enter the United States (up to 30 days before the program start date)
5.
SEVIS I-901 Fee
All prospective F-1 students must pay the SEVIS fee at FMJfee.com before their visa appointment.
A printed receipt is required as proof of payment.
6.
U.S. Embassy Visa Interview
Applicants must complete an F-1 visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their home country.
Details regarding scheduling can be found on the U.S. Department of State website.
7.
Visa Approval
& Enrollment
Upon approval of the F-1 visa, students may proceed with tuition payment and prepare to begin their studies at the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory.

Enrollment Agreement (Required After Acceptance)

All admitted students must review and sign the Enrollment Agreement, which outlines tuition policies, school regulations, refund rules, and student responsibilities.
This form is required for enrollment, but not required for the U.S. visa interview.
Transfer Credit Policy
The Los Angeles Acting Conservatory does not accept transfer credits from other institutions.
No articulation or transfer agreements exist with other colleges or universities.
English Proficiency Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through ONE of the following:

Official transcript showing completion of schooling where English is the primary language

TOEFL score of 520 or higher
Interview with the International Student Coordinator
Proof of High School Completion
Applicants must provide ONE of the following:

High school diploma or transcript

State-issued high school equivalency certificate

Associate degree or accredited college transcript

DD-214 form indicating high school completion during military service
-
State-accredited homeschool transcript
Students without appropriate documentation may audit courses but are not eligible to receive a certificate or degree.
