The Los Angeles Acting Conservatory (LAAC) is a premier performing arts institution dedicated to training actors, screenwriters, directors, and filmmakers.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Step 1: Skype Interview
A Skype interview is required before receiving an application.
Please contact the Conservatory to schedule your appointment.
Step 2: Submit Application Materials
Email the following documents to losangelesactingconservatory@gmail.com:

Completed international application form

Headshot or recent photo

Copy of passport

Resume (recommended; not required for beginners)

Essay or video answering:
“Why would you like to study at the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory?”
(150–200 words or a 2-minute video in English)

One letter of recommendation
Additional Program Requirements:

Acting Program: 3–8 minute acting reel (contemporary monologue in English, uploaded to YouTube)
​
-
Filmmaking/Directing Program: 5–7 minute sample reel or 5–7 pages of a creative writing sample
Step 3: Application Fee
A non-refundable $175 application fee must be submitted online with your application.
Once all materials and payment are received, you will be given a decision timeline.
Step 4: I-20 Form (Certificate of Eligibility)
Accepted students will receive the Form I-20, required to obtain an M-1 Student Visa.

You will use your I-20 to:

Pay your I-901 SEVIS Fee
-
Apply for your M-1 visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate
-
Enter the United States (up to 30 days before the program start date)
Please bring your I-20 when entering the U.S. to present to Customs and Border Protection.
Step 5: SEVIS Fee (I-901)
All prospective M-1 students are required to pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee at
FMJfee.com

After payment, Don’t forget to print the receipt, which will serve as proof of payment.

All M-1 visa applicants from visa-required and visa-waiver countries

Anyone applying for a change of status within the United States
Step 6: U.S. Embassy Interview
Schedule and complete a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
Visit the U.S. State Department website for appointment procedures.
Step 7: Visa Approval
Once approved, the U.S. State Department will issue your M-1 Student Visa.
You are then ready to begin your training at the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory.
TRANSFER CREDIT POLICY
LAAC does not accept credits from other institutions, challenge examinations, or achievement tests.
We currently do not maintain articulation or transfer agreements with other colleges or universities.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants 17 years old may apply with parental approval
English Proficiency (International Students)
Applicants whose first language is not English must provide one of the following:

Official transcript showing completion of secondary education where English was the primary language of instruction

TOEFL score of 520+
Interview with the International Student Coordinator
Proof of High School Completion
Submit ONE of the following:

High school diploma
-
State-issued high school equivalency certificate

Associate’s degree or partial college transcript

DD-214 (indicating high school completion during military service)
-
State-accredited homeschool transcript
LAAC generally does not accept experiential learning in place of official transcripts.
Applicants without required credentials may audit a program but cannot receive a certificate or degree.
