Optional Practical Training (OPT) for M-1 Students
What Is Practical Training for M-1 Students? Practical training for M-1 students is the only type of employment authorization available for students with M-1 visas. It allows them to gain hands-on experience in their field of study through on-the-job training in the United States. This opportunity is designed for students whose training is not available in their home country. Eligible students may receive up to six months of practical training after completing their program.
